Aren’t you going to pick it up ?

Human beings are social creatures that thrive when interacting with others or nature. In doing so, we create messes that we choose not to clean up. Is there a direct link to mental health with the outcome of your surroundings?

Over the years, I watched my parents work tirelessly to provide a better life for me and my siblings. One of the fond memories that I have whenever I am feeling down was the constant reminder of cleaning up. Think back to when you were a kid, all you wanted to do was play. There was not a set limit, and it would continue for as long as your parents allowed it. Healthy children will exhibit behaviors that people may find disgusting, but it is a part of growing up. Today if your child is unactive you will assume that he/she is fine because they are sitting in front of an electrical device for extended amounts of hours.

Children are great in the sense of their teaching and understanding. During the developing stages of the brain, which is through ages 1-7 or a bit older, is the perfect time to teach discipline, love, and affection. Playtime creates excitement because kids get a chance to work out physically and mentally. Why this is the most important part of a child’s life is that playtime can teach kids how to bond with others and clean up. It was not until I got older that I realized that even when we are putting toys away it was fun because we are singing the cleanup song.

Cleaning up after yourself or your peers was never a problem because we understood that it was a part of having fun. Remember when your folks said if you do not finish your homework, do not even think about going outside to play. The power of play can rival most Over the Counter (OTC) drugs. Kids bouncing off the walls all day was normal and that changed when someone got the bright idea to call it ADHD or one of the dozens of names created to confuse the average person. We can agree that most adults need to learn how to clean up their own act.

You are a product of your environment, but what does it mean? When you are traveling, have you ever looked at someone and thought about their life story? Even if you are not deep in your subconscious thought, more than likely you will judge someone that is a stranger. Trust and believe we are human, and we have this hidden gem called curiosity. It only takes seconds for you to decide who that individual might be. Pay attention to the reaction when homeless people enter the train, no one hesitates to evacuate the area. Homelessness is an untouched subject literally and figuratively, but we all seem to run from unpleasant habits. What is ironic, a high-class woman and a homeless women have the same mindset and behavior.

What makes life interesting is the ability to study others, especially those who are successful. Have you ever interacted with a woman that was physically attractive, while having a good head on her shoulders. Ladies the question can be vice versa as well for men. Of course, we all have but it is not until you visit or live with that individual that it becomes clear. A wise woman once said, “you do not know that a house is leaking unless you live there.” How is it possible for someone to earn a good living and still live like a poor person?

When you read psychology books, their teaching is not investing time in one area, but more of the rational of thought process. Because this society is artificial, women find themselves in a social bind and are always searching for answers. Makeup, plastic surgery, and luxury clothes are amongst the thoughts that a woman has each day. I am not saying that you should not have those thoughts, but when you live in an unkept environment, you need to rewire your mindset. Beauty is not what you are as a person, but it includes your habits. Are you willing to overlook the fact that he/she is a poor decision maker, because you want to have sex with them. Here is another phrase, “when you sleep with dogs, you will attract fleas.”

Covid – 19, by far was one the worst events in history. Pandemic data tells us that millions of lives lost, supply chains disrupted, and everyone who survived wishes that it will never happen again. The pandemic highlighted our love for free money and the emphasis on cleaning. Have you ever heard that free money is expensive, but we will leave that for another time. Cleaning product manufactures such as Clorox, which saw record profits during the years of covid. Whether the virus still exists is a matter of public opinion, but I know people cared to clean their place of living often. Nothing like the fear of death to encourage people to make better food and environmental health decisions.

Mental health is now more important than ever because we have collectively overlooked the significance of brain nourishment. Your reality already exists in a spiritual realm, but you need to believe that it exists. Kung Fu Panda has thought me that everything starts and begin with you. A mirror is more than just a reflection, but a storyteller as who need to become. When Po the panda realized that he could become a dragon warrior, his entire perspective about life changed. Balance is why we admire nature, because animals’ functionality is simple, predators eat prey.

You are what you eat, but what if I were to say you are how you live. It is easy to identify or find fault in someone who is homeless. These people do not have access to the same resources as someone who has an illustrious career. For someone who can provide food, water, and shelter for themselves or others have no excuse to not clean. Hiring a cleaning service is an option but I prefer you to do it yourself. When you clean your home or apartment, it gives you a level of satisfaction and appreciation for what you worked hard for. Stop settling for less and thinking with your private parts, let your partner know that a clean environment makes a clean mindset, which will lead to future success.
